Where can I find credible information about philosophy in Star Wars?

I'm doing a research project, but I can't seem to find anything academic when it comes to Star Wars, which I'm using as an analogy to prove a larger point. Any help would be appreciated, I've been looking for days now but I can't find anything I would be allowed to use in the project. Star Wars referring of course to the movies.Where can I find credible information about philosophy in Star Wars?http://www.leaderu.com/focus/starwarsspi鈥?/a>

http://www.ccg.org/english/s/p181.htmlWhere can I find credible information about philosophy in Star Wars?i don't know how much this will help you, but george lucas based the entire star wars plot on the "hero's journey", an archetype designed by a man of the name Joseph Campbell. the first movie follows this archetype very strictly.

heres an outline that i did for a research project of my own, it has alot of mistakes but it wasn't meant for anyone to read. hope it gives you some ideas and puts you in the right direction!

I. Influences of Star Wars

III. Main Point One: The theology of Star Wars is one of the most prominent ways the movie connects to the audience because it uses religious icons and stories that are already known.

A. George Lucas studied many religious icons and incorporated them into the characters of Star Wars.

1. Darth Maul is based on Satan.

a. both Darth Maul and Satan are both usually shown with horns. Horns suggest violence.

b. evil icons usually portray a black or red color. Black is uncertain, scary, sad. Red is aggressive, aggressive=evil.

2. Anakin Skywalker is based on Jesus and Moses

a. Virgin Birth, both Anakin and Jesus are born without a father

b. Like Moses and Jesus Anakin is born a slave

c. Anakins Journey is opposite of that of Jesus鈥? Jesus ascends from death, Anakin descends to it.

d. Jesus became human by gaining a body, Anakin loses his humanity by losing his body.

3. Luke Skywalker is based on Jesus and Moses

a. all three hidden at birth to save their lives

b. they all lived peaceful quite lives until their destiny called upon them.

B. Famous stories from religions are mimicked in Star Wars continuously throughout the series due to the moral that those ancient stories give and George Lucas鈥?desire to also show those morals in his movies or do give a certain character as specific aspect.

1. The story of the temptation of Jesus. Satan took Jesus atop of a mountain and offered him all of the kingdoms of the world.

a. Palpatine/ Darth Sidous offers Anakin Skywalker the evil power to save his wife from death.

b. Darth Vader offers Luke Skywalker a position next side to him in ruling the galaxy after taking over the empire.
