Could an advanced civilization exist on energy from a neutron star?

Let's say an advanced alien civilization had to leave it's home and settle on a neutron star.

Would they be able to harness the energy from a neutron star and survive on such a star?

If so, how would they do it?Could an advanced civilization exist on energy from a neutron star?First of all, the gravity on the surface of a neutron star would be incredible (on the order of 3 * 10^11 g), so the idea of any normal matter surviving there is ludicrous. But let's assume instead that our aliens use a planet revolving around the neutron star far enough away that tidal forces don't rip the planet apart.

Second, the energy from a neutron star is generated by residual heat from gravitational collapse and from infall of matter around the star. A lot of that is going to be high-energy X-rays, especially early in the star's life, so there's plenty of energy available there. Perhaps our aliens live on the night side of a tidally-locked planet, but have some kind of energy plants on the day side, and send the energy around the planet to the night side.

Finally, the neutron star was created by the collapse and supernova of a star, so there's a highly ionized and high-speed gas shell expanding away from the star. Our aliens can only get through that after it has expanded and cooled sufficiently to not be a radiation hazard.

Overall, this is an interesting idea, but if the advanced civilization can pick up and leave from wherever they started, why would they want to settle in such a strange and hostile environment? Why not go to a more ordinary world, so they don't have to take drastic measures (like putting a planet's body between them and their star) in order to survive?Could an advanced civilization exist on energy from a neutron star?
If you were speaking of fantasy, than yes, this can happen.

But when you Come to use the Actual Law of science, you will soon find that to have a Living Creature, you must Have consistency in the structures, but on neutron Stars, Atoms are vibrating with such a high energy, that their movement will just wreck everything, they hit each others like crazy, at speeds of 10000 km/s, so when they hit an object forming, they will inevitably destroy it, that is why, a possibility of life on a Neutron Star is Impossible.Could an advanced civilization exist on energy from a neutron star? The gravity on a neutron star is strong enough to overcome atomic bonds and compress neutrons into a solid mass. Nothing could live on that (no physical creature, anyway), it would be crushed to the thickness of an atom in an instant, and since it's a largely inert body, it wouldn't be much of a source of energy.Could an advanced civilization exist on energy from a neutron star?
That would be pretty strange. But it's physically possible. Try reading this story for the details.Could an advanced civilization exist on energy from a neutron star?NO and NO
