What is the big bright star in the eastern sky?

Hello, i'm from west London, and in the eastern sky there is an extremely bright star/planet. I have tried to look it up, but its hopeless, i wondered if there was anyone who knows more about it. Thanks. What is the big bright star in the eastern sky? It's probably Jupiter. You can double check by downloading Stellarium, which is free shareware:

If it doesn't twinkle, it's probably a planet, namely Venus. Alpha Centauri is one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Here in the US we see Venus, though Jupiter can be very bright because of it's gases reflecting the sun's light. What is the big bright star in the eastern sky?It is Jupiter.

When i was watching the Meteor show last month with my brother we saw it and then we looked it up.What is the big bright star in the eastern sky?
